My thirty-plus years of touring experience will help your artist save (or make) money, whilst protecting your management commission.

I can travel with your artist on-the-road and my experience and expertise is more useful preparing the budget, in the supplier bids and rehearsal planning of pre-production, and in the advance.

I now offer those parts of the job, remotely from London, at a fixed price, with no travel costs attached. I populate Master Tour as I go and add you as a mobile (access only) user. You can then see what is being organised at all times.

Budgets, pre-production, and advancing for festivals

For a one-off festival, the pre-production and advancing usually involve more effort than a week of club shows. And once completed, there is often not much more to do on the ground. Flying a tour manager out for a single show typically means three days’ wages for travel, show day, and the journey home, plus flights, a hotel room, and per diems. That is roughly £2,000. Do you really need someone to ‘hand out towels and hotel room keys¹’ for a one-off show?

So again, I do the budget, pre-production and advancing for your artist’s festival performances. I populate Master Tour and you get access as a ‘mobile’ user to the same information. Then, I add your artist and crew as mobile users for the first show. (Festival prices are the same whatever the artist’s fee).

How booking works

Try me first. If you would rather see how I work before committing to a tour, start with a Quick Budget: a one-page budget from your agent’s date sheet, with two revisions, for £100 (artist fee under £1,000) or £200 (over £1,000). If you then book Budget + Advance or Tour Ready, the Quick Budget is credited in full, so in effect it costs nothing.

Festivals. The Festival Budget is the place to start. If you then want me to advance the show and do the pre-production, upgrade to Festival Ready and pay only the difference.

Payment. Tour packages and the Summer Season are paid 50% on booking and 50% when advancing begins, which can be weeks or months before the first show. The final budget revision and the Master Tour handover are released on final payment. A single festival is paid in full on booking, because the work starts straight away.

Master Tour. I populate Master Tour as I go along so you can see exactly what is happening. I will add you, your artist, and the crew as mobile (access only) users. I charge any additional Master Tour Pro seats your crew requires at cost as needed.²

Availability. I take on a maximum of three tours in pre-production at any one time, and a few acts each summer, so it pays to get in touch as soon as your agent confirms dates.

‘Artist fee’ means the artist’s fee per show. I am not VAT-registered, so no VAT is added to these prices. Third-party costs such as carnet fees, certificate fees and freight charges are passed on at cost.

Need me on the road?

I still go out as a full on-the-road concert tour manager when the tour needs it. That is charged at £375–£450 a day, plus travel, accommodation and per diems. More about on-the-road management.
